We made an attempt to visit our county nature center earlier this summer, only to discover that it wasn’t open in the morning. We recently went back to see what we could find. We were the only visitors, and the folks working there seemed eager to tell us about the place.
There are several stuffed animals, some touch and feel items, and some live animals including a skunk (without a stink sprayer — not the technical term
), fish, turtles and snakes. The kids got to touch one of the snakes.
Morgan was very interested in studying the snake.
She was even brave enough to hold it!
Andrew was brave, too.
The snake was allowed to slither around the room. The kids got a kick out of following it around.
Morgan loved the snake so much. “I wish we had a snake for a pet!” she said. I think Mom might veto that wish.
Then, Morgan got REALLY brave!
Wow! I was impressed!
We thought Grandpa Baumer might be impressed with this:
And we found out that Morgan & Andrew are about the size of a Peregrine Falcon. Paige is a little Cooper’s Hawk.

That is gross!!!!!! You have a brave little girl. I would have ran to the car, left the kids to fend for themselves as I locked the doors and had the shakes from the fear of snakes.
