I’ve tried to keep my blog posts to the “adventures of the Drosts,” but I just felt like sharing one of my current top songs. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the verse in Romans 12 … “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who morn.” It seems we’ve had a lot of people to rejoice with lately, but also a year full of reasons to mourn. Life is full of joy, but we know a lot of family and friends who have had discouragement, frustration, hearbreak and tragedy in their lives. This song just does such a good job of sharing my thoughts and faith, that even when life is falling apart, God is still there. Always.
“Friend, I don’t know where you are and I don’t know where you’ve been
Maybe you’re fighting for your life or just about to throw the towel in
But if you’re crying out for mercy, if there’s no hope left at all
If you’ve given everything you’ve got and you’re still about to fall
Well hold on, hold on, hold on, cause
I believe always, always
Our Savior never fails
Even when all faith is gone
God knows our pain and His promise remains
Always, always, He will be with you always.”

Thanks to my mom who had the time to make an “Elf Yourself” video for our family! You can view it here: Disco Drosts. The kids got quite the kick out seeing “themselves” dancing on the screen. Andrew was cracking up! Morgan didn’t seem to quite understand at first, but she was soon trying to mimick all of the dance moves. Hopefully you enjoy it, too!
